Yes and no. You will receive supportive therapy as part of your visits with Dr. White. However, most of her patients also seek or have additional therapy for specific issues. She can help you find the right therapist for you and/or you can visit Psychology Today online. This is a valuable tool to locate therapists with specific requirements.
In order to maintain Suboxone treatment it is expected that you will have monthly visits with her, that you will have regular urine drug screens (patient responsible for cost and making arrangements for laboratory), that you will be involved in a recovery program like AA, NA, or Celebrate Recovery. If outpatient treatment is not successful Dr. White will refer you for more intensive treatment than she is able to provide through telehealth.

- If you have any questions about coverage call your insurance carrier and ask if Dr. White is contracted with them.
- Some carriers require authorizations for mental health. If your carrier requires authorizations then it is your responsibility to obtain authorizations prior to being seen.
- After the initial visit you will be scheduled for a follow up within 2-4 weeks. After this it generally monthly for at least the first year of treatment. If determined that more time between visits is warranted then it will every 2-3 months. The standard of care for mental health is a minimum of every 3 months.
- With certain medications that cannot legally have refills and require closer monitoring your visits will be on a monthly basis.

- Sleep consistent times for at least 6-8 hours.
- Wake up and drink at least a liter of water.
- Good quality daily vitamins and minerals. ALIVE vitamins are good and easy to find. Most people need extra Magnesium, B vitamins, Vit D3, CoQ10 and Omega 3s.
- Balanced healthy diet.
- Walking 15-30 min every day (at least)

- Supportive community - support groups, small groups, etc.
- Mood journaling
- Regular visits with blood work from primary care practitioner
- Stress reduction strategies to keep cortisol levels down
- Extra therapy
- It’s always a good idea to call the office or send message through Kareo when you have at least a week’s worth of medication left.
- If its over a weekend that you will run out then take half of your normal dose or every other day if not able to break in half to make medications last until more can be sent in.
- Generally, medications are not refilled without an appointment and if an emergency refill is given it is for 7-14 days and may be charged up to $25 per script.
